‘His passing has reverberated throughout our UK businesses’ – Blodau

Following the death of Paul Gauselmann, the pioneering entrepreneur who created one of the world’s leading gaming and amusement businesses, Sascha Blodau, general manager of the Merkur Group in the UK, said: “We are all deeply shocked and saddened by the news of Paul Gauselmann’s death. His passing has reverberated throughout our UK businesses, including Blueprint Operations, Blueprint Gaming, Merkur Gaming and Regal Gaming Technologies.
“The development of the group’s British businesses was very much Paul Gauselmann’s vision. Under his leadership, the UK became the most successful of Merkur’s operations outside Germany and an enormously important part of the wider group.
‘A truly remarkable entrepreneur’
“Paul Gauselmann was a truly remarkable entrepreneur, whose vision, determination and humanity shaped not only our businesses but also the lives and careers of many thousands of people. His absence will be deeply felt by all of us in the UK and by the group’s 15,000 employees around the world.
“He leaves an extraordinary legacy, which will continue to guide and inspire the Merkur Group for generations to come. We will honour his memory by continuing to build upon the remarkable foundations he created.”
