It’s that time again!
Contender Series is back with 10 straight weeks of mixed martial arts (MMA) action, streaming at 7 p.m. ET TONIGHT (Tues., Oct. 6, 2026) on Paramount+.
In the main event, Preston LaGrange (6-1) — a career Middleweight — steps up on short notice to take on France’s Nell Ariano (6-0) in a Light Heavyweight showdown. The co-main event sees UFC employee (seriously) Sal Everett (4-0) fight Ozzy Martin (4-0). In the “Featured” bout, Roque Conceicao (11-3) returns for a second shot at a UFC contract when he takes on Peruvian killer, Alexander Chavez (9-0). Japan’s Ryuho Miyaguchi(7-1) hooks ‘em up with Mateus Soares (11-2). Finally, women’s Bantamweights collide as Fury FC standout, Alivia Bierley (5-1), takes on Summer Onley (6-0).

Mine is pretty obvious. And, honestly, I can’t remember the tag I used before I started writing at SBNation some ten years ago. Elsewhere I use the tag ‘timespyre’ mostly because it’s not taken anywhere and I kinda hate putting numbers and underscores into things. And I like it because it’s not clear if it means time spyre (like spire) or time’s pyre. And it’s got Tim in it.
I’ve probably used Timbo Slice somewhere, too…

“In Sept. 2023, McCracken was out for a run near his home in Liverpool, England, when he crossed the road with his headphones playing at full volume. He never heard the bus driver sounding the horn.
The bus slammed into McCracken and dragged him approximately 60 feet (or 18 meters) along the road before finally coming to a stop. Witnesses found him unconscious behind the bus and initially believed he was dead.”
