Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 5 remained No. 1 on the Official Film Chart, the weekly U.K. home entertainment sales chart through, through Sept. 2.
The rest of the top four remains unchanged this week, with Focus Features’ supernatural horror film Obsession holding at No. 2 in its ninth week on the chart, and Universal’s animated adventure Minions & Monsters staying put at No. 3 in its third week.
Former chart-topper, Lionsgate/Universal’s Michael also remained at No. 4 in its 12th week.
Leading four new entries on the chart was Paramount’s Jackass: Best and Lastat No. 5. In the film, Johnny Knoxville and the rest of the Jackass crew reunite for one final round of outrageous stunts, pranks and self-inflicted chaos, mixed with previously unseen footage from across the franchise’s 25-year history. The movie generated a franchise-low $27.8 million at the global box office.
Universal’sThe Super Mario Galaxy Movie climbed one spot to No. 6 in its 15th week, followed at No. 7 by Warner’s animated Batman: Knightfall Part 1 — Knightfall. Based on DC’s Knightfall comic-book storyline, the storyline sees Arkham Asylum destroyed and its inmates unleashed across Gotham City. As Batman races to recapture some of his most notorious enemies, he is pushed to his physical and mental limits before coming face-to-face with a formidable new threat: Bane.
Disney/Lucasfilm’sStar Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu dropped three spots to No. 8 in its sixth week on the chart.
Making its Official Film Chart debut at No. 9 was Studiocanal’s Evil Dead Burn. The latest chapter in the long-running horror franchise follows a grieving woman who seeks refuge with her late husband’s family at their secluded home, only for the reunion to descend into a nightmare when members of the family begin transforming into terrifying Deadites.
Finally, Amazon MGM Studios’ The Sheep Detectives rounded out the chart in its debut. Hugh Jackman stars as George, a shepherd who spends his evenings reading murder mysteries aloud to his flock, unaware that they understand every word. When a mysterious incident rocks their farm, the sheep decide to put everything they have learned to the test and investigate the human suspects themselves. The movie generated $132.7 million at the global box office.
