Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has entered its first Saturday at the box office after completing three days in theatres. Following a blockbuster opening and subsequent slowdown, the Geetu Mohandas directorial has started Day 4 with Rs 0.72 crore nett in India from early shows, according to Sacnilk’s live figures.
As of around 9 am on Saturday, August 29, Toxic was running across 2,960 tracked shows with an overall occupancy of approximately 12 per cent. Since these are live figures from early morning, the Day 4 collection is expected to rise significantly as matinee, evening and night shows are added.
With the early Saturday numbers included, the film’s India nett total stands at Rs 166.67 crore, while its India gross has reached approximately Rs 198.95 crore so far.
Toxic began its theatrical journey with an extraordinary Rs 101.10 crore nett on Day 1, playing across 24,579 shows with 56.1 per cent occupancy.
The film witnessed a sharp correction on Thursday, collecting Rs 37.65 crore on Day 2. Its occupancy dropped to 26.6 per cent across 22,629 shows.
On Friday, Toxic added another Rs 27.20 crore nett from 19,390 shows, registering an overall occupancy of around 25.5 per cent.
The language-wise early Saturday figures show Kannada slightly ahead of Hindi despite having significantly fewer shows. The Kannada version had collected around Rs 0.35 crore from 305 shows with 22 per cent occupancy, while Hindi earned approximately Rs 0.32 crore from 2,127 shows at 10 per cent occupancy.
The Telugu version contributed around Rs 0.03 crore from 246 shows, while Tamil stood at Rs 0.02 crore from 282 shows at the time of the update.
With Saturday being the first full weekend day, the final Day 4 figure will be crucial for Toxic. After the huge Rs 101 crore opening, the film’s collections have declined on consecutive days, making the weekend performance important in determining its longer theatrical trajectory.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic stars Yash alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria. The film released theatrically on August 26.
The early Rs 0.72 crore figure should not be treated as the final Saturday collection, as Sacnilk’s numbers are being updated throughout the day. All eyes will now be on whether Toxic can witness a substantial weekend jump by Saturday evening.
