This August, two X-Men will get an ancient blast from the past as they step into the TOMB OF APOCALYPSE!
Fresh off fan-favorite runs on MAGIK & COLOSSUS and MOONSTAR, writer Ashley Allen teams up with artist Domenico Carbone (MOON KNIGHT: FIST OF KHONSHU) for some epic relic-hunting action in TOMB OF APOCALYPSE #1!
While the end of the Krakoan Age left the ancient mutant exiled in space, Apocalypse returns with a mysterious new mission and his sights on two X-Men: Wolverine and Jubilee. Now, that iconic mutant duo must dive into Apocalypse’s mysterious world and retrieve an ancient artifact before it dooms mutantkind!

Speaking with AIPT, Allen explains how this series will explore the dynamic between Wolverine and Jubilee and how it has evolved since their original adventures.
“Jubilee is so witty, and that really manifests in not only her dialogue but her fights as well. Whereas Wolverine is more stoic and gruff, which is really fun to channel since that is the complete opposite of my personality,” says Allen. “But putting them together, I think you could fall into the trap of Wolverine yet again mentoring the younger ‘kid.’ But Jubilee has grown up since she was first introduced, and I really want this series to invert that dynamic and show Jubilee coming into her own.”
While Apocalypse and Jubilee worked together in EXCALIBUR (2019) during the Age of Krakoa, Allen explains that this won’t be a happy reunion.
“There’s a familiarity between Jubilee and Apocalypse for sure, which is expressed in our series. I think I write Jubilee a little bit more casually toward Apocalypse because of it… But it’s hard to forget just how powerful Apocalypse is,” says Allen, who also teases the return of their Excalibur teammate Rictor. “There’s a reason Julio’s coming to the Tomb of Apocalypse, and it’s sure not for sightseeing. This series will definitely address Rictor’s relationship with Apocalypse and all the complications that come with it.”
