    Tom Hardy’s alter ego rises.

The MobLand actor shocked fans after he released his debut rap album under the stage name Frankie Pulitzerin collaboration with hip-hop group Czarface titled Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer on Aug. 28, proving he really can do it all.

The 15-song project not only includes features from rap legends Busta Rhymes, Method Man and EL-P, but it also contains pop culture-centered lyrics about Hardy’s better-known passion: film.

Indeed, the album features lyrics about his Spider-Man: No Way Home costar Willem Dafoe as well as Martin Scorsese’s 1999 film Bringing Out the Dead in “Raw Forever.”

Meanwhile, the track “Mad Technology” includes literary references from Stephen King.

In “Gnawing at My Rhyme Like a Poisonous Rat” Hardy also draws inspiration from his love for the arts, touching on Titanic’s iconic quote, “draw me like one of your French girls,” as he raps, “You act amused like [Leonardo] DiCaprioscratching his pencils to capture your figure.”

The project also includes an especially nostalgic moment from Hardy’s work as he recites William Shakespeare’s “Richard III” for his song “Grim-Visaged War” in the voice he used to portray Bane in his 2012 film The Dark Knight Rises.

Though the album marks Hardy’s rap career debut, his love for the craft is certainly not new.

In 2018, former music producer Edward Tracy released Hardy’s rap mixtape from 1999 titled Falling on Your Arse. Tracy uploaded the tracks to BandCamp under the name Eddie Too Tall and Hardy’s former pseudonym Tommy No. 1.

And while the 48-year-old has made a name for himself in films like Mad Max: Fury Road and Locke, he previously shared a glimpse into his early passion for rapping.

“I started out rapping when I was 14 or 15,” Hardy told BBC in 2011. “Because I come from a nice middle-class neighborhood it was a very hard sell. And I wasn’t very good!”

He added at the time, “I’ve recorded loads of stuff but it’s never been released.”

But it seems Hardy has just been waiting for the right time to share his creations with the world.

“I’ve got albums, man,” he said. “My <a href="https://comicvibe.com/10-best-tv-shows-like-ride-or-die/” title=”10 Best TV Shows Like Ride Or Die”>best friend Peanut, he grew up in the south Bronx. He’s a very good MC and we still play. It’ll come out in a film one day, it’ll come out in a character somewhere.”
