Tiny Metal, AREA35’s turn-based tactical war game, has expanded into an anime, titled Tiny Metal: Zero Line, with Studio Khara’s Hiroyasu Kobayashi helming the project. AREA35 officially unveiled the first anime’s pilot episode at Japan Expo 2026 in Paris on July 9.
Tiny Metal Zero Line’s world premiere featured a panel with its creative staff and AREA35 CEO Hiroaki Yura, who discussed the project’s development and the decision to expand the franchise into animation. The anime will focus on the aftermath of a Great War, involving Lost Tech, and humanity’s stance on using and controlling them.
TheTiny Metal Zero Lineanime is the franchise’s first screen adaptation. The anime’s first official teaser is currently available at the game’s official YouTube channel, giving fans an early glimpse of the upcoming anime.
Kobayashi Leads an Experienced Creative Team for Tiny Metal Zero Line Anime
Kobayashi from Studio Khara is directing Tiny Metal: Zero Line at Studio SAFEHOUSE. Kobayashi’s previous credits include CG art direction on Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time and directing an episode of Star Wars: Visions Volume 3.
SAFEHOUSE has worked in the Gundamfranchise previously, underscoring its experience in high-action warzone anime. More importantly, the studio is working on AREA35’s third installment in the TINY METAL franchise, the Tiny Metal 2 video game.
SAFEHOUSE is producing the full-CG animation using Unreal Engine, as per PRTimes. Gō Takahashi and Yūsuke Kozaki handle character designs; the latter is recognized for his work on Fire Emblem.
Hirotaka Inaba writes the script, with Koji Moriga, who has also worked in Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance, serving as art director. The anime has also unveiled its key voice cast. Toshiyuki Toyonaga voices Gries, with Mikako Komatsu as Wolfram, Riho Kuma as Nora Godwin, and Kenjiro Tsuda as Isoroku Tsukumo.
Tiny Metal: Zero Lineanime does not have a release window as of writing. The Tiny Metal 2 game, which previously had a 2026 release date, has been delayed till Spring 2027, as well.
