The World’s Biggest Manga Publisher Just Made Nearly 400 Series Free

Want to read manga without going through some sketchy scan site?

Shueisha might have just given you the biggest legal alternative of the year.

The Japanese publishing giant behind some of the biggest manga franchises on the planet has launched MANGA MILLION.

    Nearly 400 manga series.

    More than one million pages.

    Free.

    Legally.

The project celebrates Shueisha’s 100th anniversary and makes a huge selection of its catalog available internationally, with content translated into more than 100 languages.

We’re talking about some serious names.

    One Piece.

    Naruto.

    Bleach.

    Jujutsu Kaisen.

    Demon Slayer.

    Chainsaw Man.

    SPY x FAMILY.

    Hunter x Hunter.

    And plenty of other titles.

This could be a pretty big deal.

    Because let’s be honest.

If you want to read a manga that isn’t easily available in your language or region…

    What usually happens?

    You search for scans.

Then you find a website covered in ads.

    Another tab opens.

    You close it.

And suddenly you’re wondering whether you just downloaded malware instead of chapter 247.

And even when the site works…

The translation quality can be questionable.

The image quality can be terrible.

And you’re still reading an unauthorized copy.

MANGA MILLION is basically offering another option:

    Go directly to the publisher.

    Pick a series.

    Pick an available language.

    And read it legally.

But here’s where things get interesting.

This isn’t simply Shueisha putting a couple of famous chapters online.

The platform is designed as a massive international showcase for its manga catalog.

And that means you can go beyond the obvious hits.

    You might find sports manga.

    Romance.

    Comedy.

    Action.

    Older series.

    Hidden gems.

Stories you’ve never even heard of.

And that’s probably one of the coolest parts.

Because most fans have a very specific routine.

    You finish One Piece.

    You start Jujutsu Kaisen.

    You watch Solo Leveling.

« What the hell am I supposed to read now? »

MANGA MILLION could basically become a giant discovery machine.

And there’s another reason this experiment matters.

    Piracy.

The manga industry has been fighting piracy for years.

    But here’s the uncomfortable truth:

You can’t fight piracy only by telling people:

You also need to give them a convenient alternative.

If a fan wants to read something…

And the legal version isn’t available…

Or it takes months to arrive…

Someone else is going to provide it.

Pirate websites understood this very early.

    They made manga accessible.

Shueisha is now trying to compete with that convenience.

And that’s a much more interesting strategy.

« How do we stop people from pirating? »

« How do we make the legal option so easy that people don’t need to pirate? »

That’s the real experiment behind MANGA MILLION.

And there’s one important detail to remember.

This doesn’t necessarily mean every single manga is available in every single language.

The « 100+ languages » figure refers to the international language coverage of the platform and its catalog.

So if you’re specifically looking for a French version…

Check the language options for the series you want.

    But even with that limitation…

    The scale is enormous.

    And the timing makes sense.

Shueisha is celebrating a century of publishing.

What better way to celebrate than putting a huge chunk of your history in front of a global audience?

Where manga and anime culture are already deeply embedded in youth culture…

This could be a seriously good discovery tool.

    Go to MANGA MILLION.

Search for the big names first.

    Don’t stop there.

    Scroll.

    Explore.

Find something you’ve never heard of.

Because the best thing about having nearly 400 series available…

Isn’t necessarily getting another chapter of the manga you already love.

It’s discovering the one you didn’t know you needed.

Nearly 400 series. Over one million pages. More than 100 languages. Free and legal.

The manga industry just made a pretty massive move.

If publishers can make huge catalogs this accessible…

does this finally give legal manga a real chance to compete with piracy on convenience?
