‘We have been betrayed’: Abhishek Malhan reacts to Parul Gulati’s shadow row in The Traitors 2

Abhishek Malhan reacted to Shahneel Gill and Krystle D’Souza’s claims about Parul Gulati’s alleged “shadow” leaking Traitor information. He said he was shocked by the allegations, dismissed marketing speculation and suggested contestants may have been “betrayed” if the claims were true

Parul Gulati’s controversial shadow claims have been making rounds ever since Shahneel Gill and Krystle D’souza have made shocking revelations. Now, adding to the same drama, Abhishek Malhan who got evicted from The Traitors 2 has reacted to the claims. The reality star took to his YouTube channel to share his reaction to the allegations and what had happened.

Abhishek Malhan reacted to Shahneel and Krystle’s video, he revealed that he was only aware of that there were shadows for each contestant. Who would help them with everything in terms of their stay in the show. He further revealed that he was shocked when he came to know that a shadow had helped Parul in finding the traitor. He said, “I completely flipped, this was the first time I didn’t even feel like this when I got evicted, I always thought that I played a good game inside. But then there has been cheating going around.”
Abhishek also clarified whether the claims were a part of any marketing campaign for the show, he said, “No, this isn’t marketing at all. I actually asked everyone if they were doing this for marketing or the controversy was true.” Abhishek revealed that he didn’t want to stay stuck with the show, he believes in moving forward from something once done.
Abhishek then tried to decode the controversy around Parul, as he discusses about the game show. He said, “If this has happened then all of us have been betrayed badly. Secondly, when we were inside the show, we had received on information that suddenly from 21 shadows that were there for each contestant from that one shadow was asked to leave. I don’t who’s shadow it was but as people are saying it was Parul’s shadow. I don’t have any clue about the reason behind it.”
The controversy began after The Traitors Season 2 contestant Shahneel Gill claimed that a contestant’s “shadow” was allegedly paid to leak information about the Traitors. Without naming anyone, Shahneel raised questions over Parul Gulati’s frequent accurate guesses, saying her daily “gut feeling” about the Traitors seemed too precise to be mere intuition. She hinted that Parul’s instincts may have had an undisclosed source. However, Shahneel stressed that the alleged incident was not the makers’ fault. Amid the allegations, Parul reacted on Instagram, calling herself “INNOCENT, AGAIN!” and labelling the claims a “digital witch-hunt.”
