Select PlayStation Plus subscribers can try 007 First Light for free
007 First Light is one of the biggest games of 2026, but you’d be forgiven for having missed it. It’s been a busy year filled with a wide variety of awesome things to play. With the holiday season on the horizon, the game has already started to receive some sizable discounts, so IO Interactive is warming up potential new fans. If you have PlayStation Plus Premium or Deluxe, you can try a 1-hour trial of 007 First Light.
This will allow you to play the game’s prologue and some of Bond’s training sections, which are actually quite fun and inventive for a video game tutorial. It’s a great way to come to grips not only with how the game feels to play, but also the story and IO Interactive’s take on Bond. If you like it, you can buy the game for 40% off, which brings it down to about $42.

007 First Light is one of the most well-reviewed games of 2026, withIGN giving it a 9 out of 10 and praising it for being a smart yet faithful evolution of the beloved spy franchise.
“Demonstrably obsessed with bringing the Bond fantasy to life in a way no game has ever managed before, developer IO Interactive has found a highly successful home for the more curated action-stealth formula of 2012’s Hitman: Absolution,” reads an excerpt from our review. “Patiently paced, First Light is brimming with Bond’s trinity of gadgets, guns, and girls in a way that feels fresh but reverent, and never like parody.”
007 First Light has sold over 4 million copies as of August 2026 and will presumably rack up a few more copies sold throughout the holiday season, especially if it scores some end-of-year awards. IO Interactive has also released some free post-launch updates for the game to encourage players to revisit it and is planning to drop a new story DLC before the end of the year. Next year, Nintendo Switch 2 fans will also have the opportunity to play the game when it is ported over to the console in March.
