Sabrina Carpenter and Seth Rogen also served as Executive Producers on the special. The special followed the cast of The Muppets as they tried to put the show together, with the backstage area being overcrowded and Miss Piggy competing with Carpenter.
The special received many positive reviews, with the Tomatometer on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes currently at 98%. In addition, Deadline reports the show received millions of views. Tough Pigs highlights that it won the Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Picture Editing for a Variety Special, and Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special.
