The GTA 6 reveal just made the PS5 Pro almost impossible to find

The intense anticipation for Rockstar Games’ upcoming open-world title has created an immediate hardware shortage. While PlayStation Direct still has limited inventory at the standard $899 list price at the time of publication, storefronts like Best Buy and Target show zero units available.

This sudden scarcity has led third-party sellers on platforms like Amazon, Walmart, and eBay to charge exorbitant markups. Secondary market listings show the high-end console selling for up to $1,300, which is a massive price hike over the base retail cost. Sony will likely replenish inventory before the actual November release of GTA 6, but current market behavior illustrates how intensely players want optimal hardware for the game.

Rockstar Games confirmed that the new title will feature specific enhancements for the PlayStation 5 Pro. The developer has not yet detailed exactly what those visual or performance improvements will entail. Tech analysts suggest the game remains unlikely to reach a consistent 60fps even on the upgraded Pro hardware. Despite these technical predictions, the recent extended look footage continues to drive players toward securing Sony’s most powerful hardware regardless of the secondary market price.
