The number of applicatants for The Duskbloods’ closed network test was higher than the amount for Elden Ring: Nightreign. That’s a producer at FromSoftware
Kitao made the comments during a recent Famitsu live stream. FromSoftware was surprised by the news given that Nintendo Switch 2 is relatively new and therefore hasn’t built up its userbase yet. That said, Kitao feels that some fans may have been skeptical of Elden Ring: Nightreign given its multiplayer nature, but decided to give The Duskbloods a try.
Kitao said the following (as translated byNintendo Everything):
“We were actually very surprised that the number of applicants for the network test for The Duskbloods was greater than those for Elden Ring: Nightreign.
Nintendo Switch 2 is of course new hardware and speaking in terms of number of users… well… for the Nightreign playtest I feel that many people overlooked it initially because it was multiplayer, but went on to play it after launch and really enjoyed it.
So I think that this time we received applications from many people who felt that maybe this time they’d try and participate in the network test.”
The Duskbloods just held its closed network test this weekend. There was a major hitch with the first session, but everything else seemed to go relatively smoothly after that.
The Duskbloods is still planned to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 sometime this year. When we get a release date, we’ll be sure to let you know.
Did you try out The Duskbloods’ network test? If so, what’d you think? Let us know in the comments.
