PlayStation Network status became a major concern on July 24, 2026, when a broad outage disrupted account access, online gaming, the PlayStation Store and other network-dependent features. The incident lasted for roughly eight hours before most services returned, according to Game Informer’s live outage report, which tracked Sony’s official service indicators during the disruption.

Earlier today, a massive PlayStation Network outage took services offline for thousandsof gamers worldwide, leaving them unable to sign into their accounts. Per reports on social media, this impacted the PlayStation Store, downloaded games, and any games that require a PlayStation Network connection.

On July 24, PlayStation Network experienced a major technical outage. Thousands of users around the world were unable to log in to their accounts, access the PlayStation Store, and play digital copies of games that require a network connection.

In a sea of bad headlines for PlayStation, a big network outage probably isn’t going to help.

The PlayStation Network services are facing intermittent issues as we speak, and the problem isn’t limited to a specific region. Sony‘s servers seem to have hard-crashed about an hour ago, and while some services seem to be partially restored, players are still facing a plethora of issues.

After being down for roughly eight hours, the majority of PlayStation Network services are back online. The only PSN service still experiencing issues is the PlayStation Store, but account management, gaming and social, PlayStation Video, and PlayStation Direct are back up and running. 

Players were unable to log into their account, play online or purchase games from the PlayStation Store.
