Inspired by co-founder Maya Smith’s journey from hairstylist and salon owner to beauty entrepreneur, “My Salon Empire” invites players to build and manage virtual salons, serve clients, practice hair care techniques and grow their businesses. The experience features dozens of hairstyles representing curls, coils, waves and protective styles.

Roblox gives The Doux an opportunity to connect with a new generation in a space where millions of people already play, create and express themselves. More than a branded experience, “My Salon Empire”introduces players to the creativity, customer service and business skills involved in building a successful salon.

Explore The Doux Roblox experience and start building your own virtual salon byclicking here.

Developed by Exclusible, the studio behind branded Roblox experiences for e.l.f. Beauty and Sesame Street, the experience invites players to build and manage their own beauty salon, where they serve clients, master textured hair care techniques and grow their business by managing product inventory, hiring staff and expanding the operations. Features and upgrades can be earned through gameplay, with optional upgrades also available through Robux, Roblox’s virtual currency.

For generations, beauty salons have been more than places to style hair. They are cultural and community spaces where confidence is cultivated, creativity is expressed and entrepreneurs turn their skills into thriving businesses. “My Salon Empire” brings that experience to Roblox while supporting The Doux’s belief that textured hair belongs wherever culture is created.

The experience was also shaped by a community-driven collaboration with Roblox creators who contributed hairstyles representing the diversity and creativity of textured hair. Participating creator communities include:

    • c3’s UGC
    • BarbzState
    • Austyy’s Collective
    • MURCE
    • Pulchritude
    • DECAYY
    • SalonBoutique

Together, these communities contributed dozens of hairstyles featured on “customer” avatars throughout the game.

“Hair has always been about more than appearance. It’s creativity. It’s confidence. It’s identity,” said Maya Smith, co-founder and creative director of The Doux. “For generations, salons have been places where artistry, entrepreneurship and community come together. Roblox gives us an opportunity to share that experience with younger generations in a space where they already create, connect and imagine what’s possible. We hope every player leaves our virtual salon feeling inspired to express themselves, celebrate their texture and excited by the possibilities of creativity and entrepreneurship.”

Players progress through “My Salon Empire” by:

    • welcoming clients
    • completing hair consultations
    • shampooing and styling hair
    • delivering efficient, attentive customer service
    • earning rewards and unlocking new features
    • adding salon chairs and hiring staff
    • expanding their salons and growing their businesses
    • visiting salons operated by other players

At launch, client avatars feature dozens of textured hairstyles created through the Roblox community collaboration. A future game update will allow players to customize their own avatars with additional textured hairstyles.

This launch reflects The Doux’s commitment to meeting consumers where culture is created, using immersive digital experiences to inspire creativity, entrepreneurship and authentic representation.

“My Salon Empire” extends The Doux’s commitment to hair care education and authentic representation into an interactive platform where younger generations are playing, creating and expressing themselves.

Founded by husband-and-wife team Maya and Brian Smith, The Doux is an award-winning, independent, Black-owned, veteran-owned textured haircare brand built by professional stylists for curls, coils, waves and protective styles. Born behind the salon chair and now available at major retailers including Target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and Sally Beauty, The Doux combines salon-quality performance with bold personality and an unwavering commitment to helping people embrace every curl, coil and wave. The Doux continues to redefine textured haircare through innovation, education, authentic representation and a commitment to meeting consumers wherever culture is created.
