Marvel Studios returned to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 with explosive announcements, surprise appearances, and updates on some of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most anticipated projects. From the future of the Avengers to the arrival of new (and returning) heroes, the studio gave fans plenty to discuss following its highly anticipated presentation.

Marvel Studios Producer and President Kevin Feige told the crowd, “Today, we’re mainly going to talk about movies. We’re mainly going to talk about movies because that is what brings us together in the world,” before blowing everybody’s minds with their biggest reveals.

Ryan Gosling Joins the MCU as Ghost Rider

One of the biggest surprises of the night was the official announcement of a new Ghost Rider movie starring Ryan Gosling. The actor appeared during the presentation to confirm his involvement, with Shawn Levy revealed as the film’s director.

The project is scheduled to arrive in theaters in 2028 and marks the long-awaited introduction of a new version of stunt motorcyclist Johnny Blaze into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Marvel has not revealed every story detail, the announcement immediately became one of the most talked-about moments from the convention.

    ‘Black Panther 3’ Officially Announced

Marvel Studios also confirmed that Black Panther 3 is moving forward, with Ryan Coogler returning to direct. The upcoming sequel will continue the story of Wakanda while introducing new developments for the Black Panther legacy.

The film will feature David Jonsson as T’Challa’s son. Letitia Wright and Winston Duke are also expected to return as Shuri and M’Baku, respectively.

Jonsson said of his new role, “Thank you, Ryan, thank you Kevin [Feige], thank you to this amazing family that I have the honor and the privilege and the blessing to join. I actually don’t want to say too much because I want to let the screen do the talking. But believe me, the honor is entirely mine.”

    ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Takes Center Stage

The biggest focus of Marvel Studios’ Hall H presentation was Avengers: Doomsday, the upcoming blockbuster that will bring together some of the MCU’s biggest characters and franchises.

The presentation highlighted the film’s massive ensemble cast, putting the spotlight specifically on Robert Downey Jr., who is back in the MCU not as Iron Man but as Dr Doom. “It’s not easy being green,” RDJ told the attendees wearing a Doom mask and cape. “I need a lot of help. I need this whole family around me to finally assist me in being an arch-enemy, which is daunting.”

He added, “When y’all had faith in me two years ago, you lifted me up, and I think we made something real special. “But decisions will have to be made. Perhaps you’re on the side of the good guys, or perhaps you’ll have to consider the alternative.”

Deadpool Makes a Surprise Hall H Appearance

Ryan Reynolds surprised fans by appearing not in Deadpool’s signature red and black costume but in a pale blue ensemble.

The reactions to his appearance were mixed, with some fans hoping that the character would not appear on Doomsday. Social media users have expressed their disappointment with Reynolds “inserting himself” into everything and doubted if it’s just “another ryan pr stunt.”

Another pointed out that Reynolds was trying to save his career and reputation after the messy lawsuit involving his wife, Blake Lively, and Justin Baldoni. “Nothing he does will save his career or his wife. They are DONE.”

His surprised appearance at Hall H naturally fueled speculation that he’s part of the movie, but neither Marvel nor Reynolds have provided any confirmation.

    Marvel is Back, Baby!

With announcements ranging from Ghost Rider and Black Panther 3 to updates on Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel Studios’ Hall H return delivered a clear message: Marvel is back.

Fans have long said Marvel’s lost its spark after Avengers: Endgame. But after this year’s Comic-Con, Marvel has proven once again they’re the top studio when it comes to superhero movies.
