Oct. 8 (UPI) — Netflix is giving a glimpse of the new series The Altruists.
The streaming service shared a trailer for the show Thursday featuring Julia Garner (Ozark) and Anthony Boyle (House of Guinness).
The Altruists casts Garner and Boyle as Caroline Ellison and Sam Bankman-Fried, two real-life people at the center of the FTX cryptocurrency fraud scandal.
The trailer shows a 20-something Caroline and Sam form a romance as they bond over their desire to “save the world” and build a cryptocurrency business “that earns to give.”
In real life, the pair ended up accused of stealing billions of dollars, with Caroline sentenced to 24 months in prison and Samto 25 years behind bars.

The Altruists is created by Graham Moore, who serves as co-showrunner and writer with Jacqueline Hoyt.
“I genuinely believe that both Sam and Caroline were deeply committed altruists from day one, who set out to do as much good for as many people as they could in their lives,” Mooretold Netflix’s Tudum. “Over the course of the years that our show depicts, Sam and Caroline, with the very best of intentions, talked each other and themselves into committing a number of terrible crimes.”

The Altruists premieres Nov. 19 on Netflix.
