As the anticipation of Jason Sanjay’s directorial debut, Sigma, grows, his father Thalapathy Vijay’s old statement has once again caught attention online. A throwback comment where Vijay spoke about his feelings for Sangeetha Sornalingam is going viral on social media just a few days before Sigma hits the theatres.

The interview resurfaced, and fans were hooked because of Vijay’s comments on whether love changes with time. The statement showed his belief that his feelings would not change in strength, no matter how life might change.
The comment has got a new lease of life online as audiences revisit different aspects of Vijay’s personal and professional life, coinciding with the release of his son Jason Sanjay’s first film as a director.
Jason Sanjay is making his debut in the film industry with Sigma, an action-adventure heist comedy starring Sundeep Kishan in the lead role. The film is scheduled for an all-India theatrical release on October 2, 2026 and has been granted a U/A certificate ahead of the release.
Jason, hailing from one of the well-known film families of Tamil cinema, naturally attracted quite a bit of attention to the project. But the young director has said on many occasions that he wants to establish his own identity behind the camera.
Jason has also been talking about how his father Vijay and grandfather, filmmaker SA Chandrasekhar, have influenced his approach toward cinema in recent interviews and during promotional events.
Jason’s journey as a filmmaker has also been spoken about publicly by Vijay. In a recent anecdote, he said he initially thought a story told by filmmaker Alphonse Puthren was meant for him, only to find out it was for Jason.
Jason, meanwhile, has insisted his father supported him in his decision to go into filmmaking, but granted him the freedom to forge his own path.

Sundeeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah star in the Lyca Productions movie, Sigma. The movie has been touted to be a young action-adventure with a heist element and an important professional milestone for Jason Sanjay.
