Thanks to Bandai Namco, we’ve got details about the frame rate and resolution for Tales of Eternia Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch.
First, when it comes to frame rate, Tales of Eternia Remastered will be at a maximum of 60 FPS. That figure applies to both the Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch versions.
Bandai Namco says that the frame rate may fluctuate temporarily depending on the gameplay conditions and environment. However, it’s not a Nintendo-specific detail – apparently that can happen on all platforms.
Moving on to resolution, Tales of Eternia Remastered is 4K when docked on Nintendo Switch 2 and 1080p in handheld mode. The Nintendo Switch version is 1080p when docked and 720p in handheld mode.
Based on everything we’re hearing, it looks like the game is maxing out its settings. You would hope so given the nature of the game – this is an older 2D title being remastered – but nothing is a guarantee these days.
Here’s some information about the game itself:
Experience Tales of Eternia, remastered for the first time ever.
Journey to Eternia, a world split into two isolated realms, Inferia and Celestia.
In the remote Inferian village of Rasheans, Reid Hershel and his childhood friend Farah Oersted meet a mysterious girl named Meredy. During their journey to discover Meredy’s origins, the group discovers that a collision called the “Great Fall” threatens both Inferia and Celesita.
Harnessing the power of elemental spirits known as the Greater Craymels, Reid and his companions embark on an epic journey to save the two realms from catastrophe.
Featuring the Aggressive Linear Motion Battle System (A-LMBS), which enables diverse Arte usage, continued combos, and coordination with each unique party member.
Experience thrilling combat as you outmaneuver enemies and defeat them one after another with fast-paced, dynamic 2D battle action.
Gameplay is better than ever with the quality-of-life features that have been added, including destination markers, the ability to disable enemy encounters, and high-speed mode during auto-battle.
Additionally, graphics and SFX can be toggled between modes, allowing you to experience the nostalgic atmosphere of the original game.
Tales of Eternia Remastered is notable as we’re finally the series is finally releasing a dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 version for one of its remasters. Even with Tales of Xillia Remastered at the end of 2025 and Tales of Berseria Remastered earlier this year, they were only available on Nintendo Switch. We have frame rate and resolution details here and here for these two games for those that are interested.
Tales of Eternia Remastered is coming out on October 16, 2026.
