BRUSSELS, Aug 31 (Reuters) – The European Commission on Monday said ChatGPT, Reddit and Roblox will need to adhere to the EU regulations for very large online platforms and search engines.

With user bases crossing 45 million in the EU, the three services must now strengthen safeguards against illegal content, protect minors and assess risks to fundamental rights, elections and public security.
The European Commission has designated ChatGPT as a Very Large Online Search Engine (VLOSE), while Reddit and Roblox have been designated as Very Large Online Platforms (VLOPs) under the Digital Services Act (DSA).
