Roblox Corporation is being investigated by the US Senate, claiming the platform is disregarding online child safety practices.

An inquiry into Roblox, conducted by the U.S. Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism, has been initiated, with allegations pointing to the platform’s prioritization of revenue over the safety of its young users.

Roblox has become one of the world’s biggest online spaces, with 123 million daily active users globally in the second quarter of 2026. Now, the platform is facing a bipartisan Senate investigation focused on one major question: Is Roblox doing enough to protect the millions of children who use it every day?

WASHINGTON — U.S. Senators Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) sent a letter to Roblox Founder, President, CEO, and Chair of the Board of Directors David Baszucki, informing him that the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism opened an investigation into Roblox.

U.S. Senators Josh Hawley, a Republican from Missouri, and Dick Durbin, a Democrat from Illinois, have opened an investigation into child safety on Roblox, citing reports of sexual exploitation, grooming and other crimes involving children who met through the online gaming platform.
