As far as fun gateway horror goes, it just doesn’t get much better than the Chiodo Bros.’ Killer Klowns from Outer Space. The 80s cult classic about alien clowns who arrive in a small town for a midnight snack (aka, humans) was one of the first horror films I ever watched. It welcomed me into the big, wide tent of the genre, and I never looked back. And now, <a href="https://www.syndicatecollectibles.com/” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>Syndicate Collectibles is releasing an actual tent based on the Klowns’ spaceship…and it knocked my block off.
While at SDCC, Syndicate took to IG to post some photos from their booth, including the red and yellow tent that has me reaching for my wallet already.
Adds Syndicate in the post, “This display playset features the ship’s interior brought to life with pop-up scenery, character standees, and vehicles inspired by the cult classic film. As noted at the booth, this prototype is subject to change and pending approval.
Beyond the finished display, part of the appeal is the fun, hands-on experience of building the Klown spaceship and bringing the scene together yourself!”
Also included at Syndicate’s booth were looks at some Killer Klowns figures. The collection features Spikey, Fatso, Rudy and the towering Jojo the Klownzilla.
Notes Syndicate, “Rudy arrives armed with his oversized cotton candy cocoon, complete with one very unlucky victim trapped inside, while the massive Jojo the Klownzilla captures the unforgettable giant finale that left generations of horror fans with a healthy fear of clown invasions.”
No word yet on pre-orders or release dates, but you can bet your clown shoes I’ll be gobbling these up quicker than the clowns can drink a human cotton candy pouch.
