The master of horror is heading to Big City! Stephen King guest stars in Big City Greens, and his episode streams on Disney+ on Wednesday, October 7. King shared the date himself on Instagram, and Disney has released the first clip of his debut on the hit animated series.

A Haunted Truck, Fit for Stephen King
The episode centers on the Kludge, Bill Green’s beloved family truck, which suddenly becomes haunted. Horror fans will spot the connection right away. King is famous for scary vehicle stories like Christine, From a Buick 8, and Maximum Overdrive.
“We’ve got a haunted vehicle. This is so Christine, From a Buick 8, and Maximum Overdrive,” series cocreator Shane Houghton told The Beat.
King voices Officer Keys, and according to the producers, he was a natural. “He came in and knocked out this little scene,” Houghton said. “He’s so funny. He nails it.”
How the Greens Got the King
Landing the legendary author was surprisingly simple. Houghton, a longtime fan, wrote King a letter. “I wrote a letter and basically said, ‘I’m a very passionate fan. I have this show and trying to make this episode the most appealing to you as a human being. Would you like to have a cameo in it?’” To the team’s delight, King’s team said yes.
A Star Packed Season 5
King is just one of the big names in Big City Greens Season 5, which premiered August 21. The season’s guest stars also include Luke Combs, Dylan Sprouse, Megan Stalter, Chad Michael Murray, Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Cobie Smulders, Clark Gregg, and Mike Colter. Megan Stalter will appear in an upcoming winter episode.
Created by brothers Chris and Shane Houghton, Big City Greens follows the country Green family as they adjust to life in the big city. It’s now the longest continuously running Disney Television Animation series, with new Season 5 episodes rolling out through 2027 on Disney Channel and Disney+.
