Following Virtual Desktop’s implementation of the feature, the latest Public Beta release for Valve’s Steam Link on Quest adds support for wired USB PC streaming.

Meta Horizon OS 2.5 and later includes Android USB networking (NCM) support, meaning that apps can request a direct network link to a connected host computer over USB after the user approves the system-wide permission required to enable the feature.

In the case of Steam Link, this works by simply plugging a data-capable USB-C cable into the headset after launching the app. An active USB connection is currently indicated by a cycling Wi-Fi signal on the SteamVR dock.

You can join the Steam Link for Meta Quest Public Beta channel using Valve’s official invite link while signed in to your Meta account, and you can join the SteamVR Beta on PC by following these instructions.

You should also opt into the Steam Client Beta on PC by following these instructions, as this is a prerequisite for wired USB streaming without Wi-Fi. However, in my testing, Steam Link would still fail to find the host PC without an active Wi-Fi connection. It instead seemed to require the PC to be discovered over Wi-Fi before switching to USB streaming, so the feature may not yet be fully implemented in the current release.
