The Book of Boba Fett is quietly back for Star Wars fans. Its return, however, has come in the most unexpected way. The character previously made an impact on The Mandalorian before getting his own dedicated TV series.
This time, Boba Fett has returned in Marvel‘s new comic book issue. Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett #2, the second part in the popular character’s comic run, is out now. It was released on September 23, 2026.
The first part of the comic book adaptation was announced back in May. It was published earlier this month on September 9, 2026.
Fett discovers that keeping the peace is harder than winning it
Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett #2 shows the iconic bounty hunter struggling to maintain peace on Tatooine as a new threat emerges.
Chapter 2’s story excerpt reads, “After escaping the SARLACC PIT, the bounty hunter BOBA FETT was captured by a tribe of TUSKENS. Now, after taking over JABBA THE HUTT’s former territory, Boba has become the new crime lord of Mos Espa, but not everyone has accepted him. Assassins and rivals threaten Boba’s tenuous reign”
In the second issue, Boba Fett is seen trying to safeguard a fragile peace with the other syndicates while remembering his grueling recovery and training with the Tusken Raiders.
The comic book adaptation also has Jon Favreau on the creative team. He has provided the story for Fett’s comic. Carlos Lao is the designer, alongside Guru-eFX as the colorist and Travis Lanham as the letterer.
Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett is a seven-issue series from Star Wars veteran writer Rodney Barnes (Han Solo – Hunt for the Falcon, Ahsoka) and artist Will Sliney (Rise of Kylo Ren). It features comic book debuts of several characters, including Garsa Fwip, Dokk Strassi, Mok Shaiz’s Majordomo, and more.
The next issue will go on sale at comic shops and digital platforms on October 14, 2026.
