Srinivasa Mangapuram, Jaya Krishna’s debut is finally out. And from the looks of it, a lot of weight is riding on this one. Jaya Krishna Ghattamaneni is the grandson of Superstar Krishna and nephew of Mahesh Babu. Hence, everyone’s watching because of the family name.
Him and Rasha Thadani are making theirTelugu cinemadebut with this film, which is a romantic thriller set in Tirupati. It is directed by Ajay Bhupathi and backed by Vyjayanthi Movies.

Critics have been a bit more measured, though. Telugu360’s review called it a routine mass film that leans heavily on Jai Krishna’s screen presence to carry it through, with a first half that drags before the story finds some momentum after the interval.

However, some viewers remarked that he was better in the romantic scenes as opposed to action scenes, which is in stark contrast with his co-starRasha Thadani who took on action scenes really well and was able to stand shoulder to shoulder with Jaya Krishna in the romance. The family of Jaya Krishna also showed support for his debut on Twitter.

How Critics Feel About the Film’s Story Itself
The story seems to be the least positive aspect, however. Many critics have slammed the movie for having a lazy, formulaic plot that exploits the trope of star-crossed lovers and infuses them with generic and ineffective comedy and action.
This has even been referred to as an undignified commercialization of Jai Krishna’s star persona by those criticizing the film’s reliance on existing potential, rather than demonstrating it, further undercutting the reputation of acclaimed filmmaker Ajay Bhupathi.
Despite some negative points, it seems that most critics agreed that Srinivasa Mangapuram succeeded in positioning Jai Krishna as the new shining star on the Telugu film circuit, though it ultimately lacked the spark to equal the glory of previous triumphs.
