Spidey fans, it’s time to suit up! New York Comic Con 2026 is about to get a whole lot more web-slinging as Jazwares and Disney Consumer Products team up to bring Spider-Man fans together for an epic attempt at breaking a Guinness World Records® title.

On Thursday, October 8, hundreds of fans will gather at the Javits Center in New York City with one goal in mind: break the record for the largest gathering of people dressed as Spider-Man!

The current record stands at 685 participants, and Jazwares is calling on Spider-Man fans of all ages to help smash that number and turn NYCC 2026 into a sea of red and blue.

The family-friendly event will take place at the NYCC Main Stage, with the official record attempt scheduled for approximately 8:00 PM ET. A Guinness World Records adjudicator will be on-site to officially verify whether Spidey fans manage to make pop-culture history.

And yes, Jazwares is making sure fans have everything they need to get into character!

Get Your Spider-Man Suit and Help Break the Record

NYCC attendees participating in the record attempt can receive a complimentary Spider-Man costume, with adult and kids’ sizes available while supplies last. There is a limit of one costume per person.

Participants will also receive a commemorative enamel pin celebrating their part in the record-breaking attempt.

Fans can register for the event and pick up their costumes beginning at 1:00 PM ET on Thursday, October 8, at the Jazwares fan zone booth located on the Javits Center Inner Roadway.

Once you’re suited up and ready to go, participants can begin lining up at 6:30 PM in the Main Stage Queue Hall. Then, around 8:00 PM, it’s time to see if Spider-Man fans can make history!

Already have your own Spider-Man suit? You can absolutely bring it along, provided it meets the official Guinness World Records requirements.

What Counts as a Spider-Man Costume?

There are some rules, because even Spider-Man needs to follow the fine print!

To count toward the record, participants must be dressed in a complete classic Spider-Man look, including the iconic red mask, boots, and red-and-blue suit featuring web detailing and the famous spider emblem.

Official alternate Spider-Man suits inspired by recognized comics and films are also welcome. However, participants must specifically be dressed as Spider-Man. Other characters from the Spider-Man universe won’t count toward the record.

So, sorry Venom, Miles Morales’ friends, and the rest of the Spider-Verse—you’ll have to cheer from the sidelines for this one!

    A Web-Slinging Celebration of Fandom

Jeremy Padawer, President of Jazwares, says the event is all about capturing the spirit of Spider-Man and bringing fans together for an unforgettable experience.

“Spider-Man has always been about the power of everyday people stepping up to do something extraordinary,” said Padawer. “We’re inviting Spider-Man fans to show up, suit up, and help us make history.”

With thousands of convention attendees expected throughout the weekend, the potential for an absolutely massive Spider-Man gathering is huge. Whether you’re a lifelongMarvel fan, a comic book reader, a parent bringing the kids to their first convention, or simply someone who thinks dressing like Spider-Man sounds like an awesome Thursday night, this is your chance to join the fun.

NYCC 2026 could become the site of one seriously spectacular Spider-Man moment.

Will fans break the current 685-person Guinness World Records title? There’s only one way to find out.

Spider-Man fans, get ready to suit up and make history!
