Sphere Entertainment Co. (NYSE:SPHR) and visual technology company Disguise have entered into a multi-year partnership focused on developing technology for Sphere’s immersive entertainment venues.
Disguise has provided media servers and software for the Sphere venue in Las Vegas since it opened in 2023, supporting live residency productions and corporate events.
Under the expanded agreement, the companies plan to work on video playback capabilities and technology intended for use in Sphere’s existing and planned venues.
Sphere to Introduce Next-Generation Disguise Technology
Sphere will become the first partner to bring Disguise’s next-generation technology to market under the agreement, according to a joint statement from the companies.
The partnership will build on Disguise technology already used at the Las Vegas venue.
Ryan Dolan, Executive Vice President and Head of Event & Interactive Technology at Sphere, said the agreement would support “future iterations of immersive productions” and the company’s “long-term vision of offering these experiences to audiences in new Sphere venues around the world.”
Fernando Küfer, CEO of Disguise, said the companies would focus on “the expansion of Sphere’s video offerings around Disguise’s technology.”
Sphere Plans Additional Venues
Sphere Entertainment has announced plans to expand beyond its existing Las Vegas location with additional venues.
The company has disclosed plans for Sphere venues in Abu Dhabi and National Harbor.
The multi-year agreement with Disguise is intended to support technology development as Sphere pursues those expansion plans.
