Spanish manga creator Oh_miau has made a debut on Shonen Jump+ with the one-shot A Summer Storm is Coming! after winning the Gold Award in the Monthly Awards on MANGA Plus Creators by SHUEISHA. The work is the third title submitted through the platform to be published on Shonen Jump+ and the first originally submitted in Spanish.

A Summer Storm is Coming! (original Spanish title: “¡Se acerca una tormenta de verano!”) follows two friends spending time together during a hot summer vacation.
The one-shot was submitted in Spanish to MANGA Plus Creators by SHUEISHA in June 2026 and received the Gold Award, the highest honor in the platform’s Monthly Awards. The prize included ¥1 million and the right to publication.
The Japanese version has since been released on Shonen Jump+, while English and Spanish versions are available through MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA.
The publication marks the third time a work submitted through MANGA Plus Creators has appeared on Shonen Jump+, following Little Monster in May 2026, and the first time for a Spanish-language submission.
Oh_miau is a 21-year-old Spanish creator who began drawing manga at 16 and has shared manga and illustrations through social media and online submission platforms.
MANGA Plus editor-in-chief Shuhei Hosono praised the work for its poetic and dynamic portrayal of youth, as well as the depth of its artwork. He highlighted scenes set on a rooftop and characters running through the rain, describing the work as an expression that shows the possibilities of manga.
