Dogs! Who doesn’t love those four legged bundles of joy and mischief (besides cats)? Dogs are a near permanent fixture at San Diego Comic-Con, from the working dogs that safeguard against danger, to the neighborhood dogs of the Gaslamp that show up to gawk at the weirdness, to the inevitable appearance of at least one Welsh corgi named Ein.

SDCC ’26 will be no different. Multiple dog-related events are planned, including the following, non-exhaustive list.

DC x Guide Dogs of America

On Saturday, July 25 from 4-6 p.m. PT, DC Comics will present its sponsored litter of Guide Dogs in training in association with Guide Dogs of America at booth #4544. Fans will have the opportunity to meet and interact with Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Kara Zor-El, Krypto, and Lobo (What?! Was ‘Ace’ taken?!).

If you can’t make it because you were delayed by cats still angry Streaky wasn’t included in Supergirl (I mean, fair point), the litter will return to the DC Booth on Sunday, July 26 at 10 a.m. PT, when artist Chrissie Zullo (Krypto: Home Sweet Krypto) will also be signing.

Air Bud makes his SDCC debut

On Sunday at 10:30 a.m. PT in Room 6BCF, Air Bud producer Robert Vince and Air Bud himself will discuss the newest entry in the Air Bud saga, Air Bud Returns, which hits theaters January 22. This will be Air Bud’s first appearance at SDCC, and fans can meet him and Vince at a signing under the Sails Pavilion starting at 12 p.m. PT.

    Peanuts x Super7 off-site pop-up

Finally, the canine carnival of Comic-Con extends even to the off-site events. Peanuts and Super7 have set up a pop-up shop which will feature plush collectibles of Snoopy’s siblings. Exclusive merchandise featuring Snoopy and siblings Spike, Belle, Andy, Olaf, and Marbles will be available at the Peanuts shop at 200 W. Harbor Ste 105 throughout the convention.

The Peanuts pop-up shop has long been a popular SDCC staple, but this is the first year Snoopy’s siblings have been featured as a centerpiece.

The 8” Super Duper Plush figures will come in pet-carrier style boxes and include adoption certificates and puppy bandanas created in partnership with the Best Friends Animal Society. The pop-up shop will be open from Thursday, July 23 to Sunday, July 26.

Dogs will finally rule this year’s SDCC. What isn’t widely known, unless you’re a San Diego resident, is that San Diego hero dog, Bum, has a statue dedicated to him just a few blocks away from the convention center at 4th and Island. For dog lovers, a quick visit to his statue might be in order before moving over to honor the new Canine Overlords of San Diego Comic-Con.

Now all the dogs have to do is find out if they deserve a treat. (Of course they do! They’re good dogs!)

Stay tuned to The Beat for more news from SDCC ’26.
