During the upcoming holiday season, Save the Children will debut its inaugural gaming and streaming fundraising event, Save Point.

Fiona Baxter, the senior fundraising manager at the charity, explained to GamesIndustry.biz that Save Point arose from the charity’s broader initiative to forge stronger connections with the gaming community.

“With Save Point, we aim to foster deeper engagement with gamers, both in terms of partnerships and individual supporters. Such an event is very accessible, as not everyone is inclined to participate in activities like marathons. It highlights different ways supporters can contribute,” she elaborated.

The event sees collaboration with TheKapFantastic, a prominent online content creator and streamer, who previously raised over £5,000 for the organization earlier in the year.

Baxter expressed that the charity hopes to continue strengthening its ties with the gaming and streaming communities post-event.

“It would be an incredible achievement if we expand our reach within this community, sharing information about our mission and its significance,” she mentioned. “The event will be a major success if it leads to newfound supporters eager to participate again because of their positive experience with us.”

“This initiative offers plentiful learning opportunities, being our first foray into such a fundraising format. Insights and feedback gained will be crucial for developing more expansive and effective gaming events in future years.”

Baxter described gamers and streamers as “unsung heroes of fundraising,” highlighting how the gaming sector is pioneering new, creative norms for supporting charitable initiatives.

“Gamers share a mutual affection for stories, imagination, and the escapism provided by play. By channeling our passion for gaming into tangible, meaningful change, we demonstrate the immense impact gamers can have,” Baxter noted.

Save Point is integrated into Save the Children’s ‘The One Delivery That Matters’ initiative, kicking off in November 2026.

The campaign aims to bring awareness to the critical deliveries awaited by countless children this Christmas, rather than gifts, including necessities like food, medicine, warm clothing, and shelter.

Baxter observed, “Today, almost anything can be delivered with the tap of a screen, yet for millions of children, the most vital deliveries this holiday season are those that ensure safety and survival.”

Scheduled for December 5 and 6, 2026, Save Point invites participation by registering here to receive further instructions on establishing a fundraising livestream.
