    • Reynolds thanked fans for their support of the Deadpool franchise over the past decade, crediting them for its success.
    • Reynolds’ surprise appearance at Marvel Studios’ Hall H panel sparked rumors and speculation about the future of Deadpool in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

During a surprise appearance at San Diego’s Comic-Con, Ryan Reynolds was mocked as “desperate” after crashing Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday presentation on July 25.

Apparently, the actor walked around Comic-Con dressed as “Jeanpool,” the gray denim version of Deadpool, before attending Marvel Studios’ Hall H presentation. Fans snapped photos, chatted with him, yet had no idea they were meeting him.

“The fans got Deadpooloff the ground so many years ago,” Ryan Reynolds shared on X with a video of him at the con. “Yesterday, 10 years after the first film and exactly 2 years after Deadpool & Wolverine, I felt so lucky to be on the #SDCC floor with everyone whose unapologetic devotion brings os much joy to this world.”

A ‘Thank You’ to Deadpool Fans

He commented on his post, saying, “No handlers, no security, no ropes. WHAT A GIFT. Thanks to everyone I met, who aren’t only cosplaying but world-building. And also… actual Sergeant Slaughter!”

Not only did he get up and personal with fans, but Reynolds also made sure to thank everyone for supporting the Deadpool franchise throughout the past decade. The actor credits fans for turning Deadpool into one of the biggest success stories over the years.

Hall H Cameo Sparks Marvel Speculation

After walking Comic-Con, Reynolds appeared alongside Robert Downey Jr. and members of the Doomsday cast during Marvel Studios’ Hall H panel. The unexpected appearance was supposedly a lighthearted exchange between the members, fueling rumors, speculations, and assumptions on the future of Deadpool in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While involvement has not been confirmed, many fans are taking this appearance as a hint. Reynolds only played into that uncertainty by asking the cast when production was scheduled to begin. “It’s in the can, bro,” Downey Jr. responded, confirming that filming has been completed.

Reynolds pretended to be disappointed, asking, “I see. So there’s no additional photography, no overages, maybe last-minute additions?”

The lighthearted back-and-forth only caused the speculations to grow, feeding into the excitement of fans.

    Reynolds’ Appearance Backfired

However, not everyone appreciated the surprise.

According to The Blast, Reynolds is getting blasted for the appearance, with many on social media calling it “pure desperation.”

Several posts also referenced the ongoing public attention surrounding Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, suggesting that the Comic-Con appearance was designed to shift the conversation.

One person commented, saying, “Wait, is this actually real or just another ryan pr stunt, dude never misses a chance to insert himself into everything, kinda getting old at this point tbh.”

Another wrote, “Ryan Reynolds begging for a Doomsdaycameo is pure desperation. Deadpool’s already overexposed and Marvel doesn’t need him wrecking another film.”

While many are defending the actor and praising Reynolds for his appearance, it’s unfortunately muddled with negativity.

Whether people viewed the stunt as clever marketing or simply a fun Comic-Con moment, it certainly accomplished one thing: Fans were talking. Reynolds’ undercover appearance became one of the convention‘s most discussed moments, leading to many hypotheticals on what fans should expect in Doomsday.
