MADISON, Ill. (Sept. 1, 2026) –The JJK 5K returns to World Wide Technology Raceway this Labor Day, bringing participants an expanded entertainment lineup, a new kid zone and a full day of family-friendly activities as one of the region’s most anticipated holiday traditions takes place Monday, Sept. 7, beginning at 9 a.m.
Just days before NASCAR’s biggest stars take on the 1.25-mile oval at World Wide Technology Raceway, participants will have a unique opportunity to experience the track themselves through a 5K run or 1.25-mile walk.
Entering its fourth year, the event continues to grow with new activities and entertainment for participants and spectators alike. This year’s JJK 5K will feature an all-new kid zone with bounce houses, foam cannons, family friendly games and a DJ to keep the energy upbeat.
The kid zone games provide a sneak peek into the Ameren Kid Zone at the Enjoy Illinois 300 with games such as Pit Stop Plinko, a tire changing station and bean bag toss. There will also be food and beverages available for purchase at the Chick Fil A and Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee trucks.

- Two tickets to the Enjoy Illinois 300 NASCAR Cup Race on September 13
- Free downloadable photos for all participants
- Awards for top three finishers in various classes in the 5K
All proceeds directly benefit the JJK Foundation, which supports youth programs and community initiatives throughout the Metro East region.
Registration and packet pick up begins at 6:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 7.
