For a few weeks now there have been rumors about Nintendo releasing a Legend of Zelda-themed Switch 2 Pro Controller to celebrate the franchise’s 40th anniversary. Today those rumors have gotten much stronger, and it certainly seems like Nintendo has something even bigger in the works as well.
As you can see above, supposed packaging for not only a Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary Switch 2 controller has surfaced, but alongside it comes a first look at a Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary Switch 2 as well. While Nintendo hasn’t confirmed any such hardware to be in the works, there’s no denying this packaging looks very much like the real deal.
With The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time due out on Switch 2 sometime in 2026, there’s no doubt we’ll be hearing more about the series in the very near future. Whenever Nintendo talks more about Ocarina of Time, it’s very likely they’ll share potential hardware plans as well. That’s when we’ll find out if the above packaging is legit or not, but again, all signs point to yes as of right now.
