Roblox has stopped working in Russia without a VPN, with users reporting widespread connection errors, according to the Moscowach Telegram channel.
“Roblox has stopped working in Russia without a VPN. Users are massively complaining about connection errors when trying to access the game,” the channel said.
The latest reports come after the game became available to Russian users again earlier this year following its previous blocking.
In early July, cybersecurity company F6 warned that scammers were exploiting Roblox’s return to Russia by offering users free in-game currency through fraudulent websites. According to F6 specialists, the sites are designed to closely resemble Roblox’s official website and promise users 1,000 Robux, the platform’s virtual currency, allegedly to celebrate the game’s return.
Russia’s Ministry of Digital Development said at the beginning of June that Roblox had become available to users in the country again after the company complied with Russian legislation. The ministry also said Roblox had committed to measures aimed at preventing the distribution of unwanted content on the platform.
Roskomnadzor blocked Roblox in December 2025, citing widespread and repeated cases of material promoting extremist and terrorist activities, calls for violence and LGBT content.
