Roblox has named Malaysian entrepreneur and investor Joel Neoh as its managing director for Southeast Asia and Oceania, putting him in charge of the gaming and creation platform’s business across both regions.
Announcing the appointment on October 30, the company said Neoh joined earlier this month. He will oversee regional strategy, expand partnerships, and work with local teams to align Roblox’s global priorities with local needs.

Growing the creator community, with safety in focus
A key part of Neoh’s role will be helping local developers and studios use Roblox’s tools to build experiences, reach audiences, and grow their businesses.
“We have an opportunity to help a new generation of creators across Southeast Asia and Oceania turn ideas into experiences, communities and businesses that can reach the world,” Neoh said.
He also placed young users’ safety at the centre of that ambition, stressing the need to work with families and authorities as the platform grows.
“As we grow, keeping young people safe and working closely with parents, regulators and local communities will remain central to everything we do.”
Two decades across Asia’s tech industry
Neoh’s career spans digital media, e-commerce, fintech, and consumer health. He founded GroupsMore and Fave, led Groupon Asia Pacific, and most recently served as managing director at Prenetics, overseeing its consumer health businesses.
He is also a founding partner of First Move, an early-stage venture capital platform supporting Southeast Asian entrepreneurs, and has backed more than 50 startups across Asia.
