The RedMagic 12 Pro combines a 185 Hz display and active cooling with support for playing PC and Steam games.
Following the RedMagic 12 Pro+’s unveiling in China in mid-October, Nubia is launching the RedMagic 12 Pro in the rest of the world. The two models are practically identical, but the global version charges at up to 80 watts over USB-C, compared with 120 watts for the Pro+. Both have an 8,400 mAh battery, and the RedMagic 12 Pro also supports 80-watt wireless charging.
The RedMagic 12 Pro has slightly rounded corners and a 6.85-inch AMOLED display without a punch-hole or notch, thanks to a 16-megapixel under-display camera. The panel has a refresh rate of 185 Hz in games, a resolution of 2,688 x 1,216 pixels, full-screen brightness of 1,900 nits and peak HDR brightness of 5,000 nits.
Its flat metal frame has touch-sensitive shoulder buttons and vents for the fan. Both the fan and the water-cooling system feature RGB lighting. The cooling system is designed to keep the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6’s gaming performance from dropping during extended sessions. The cameras sit flush with the body, which Nubia achieves using relatively small sensors.
The 50 MP f/1.9 main camera uses a 1/1.55-inch sensor, while the 50 MP f/2.0 ultrawide camera has a 1/2.88-inch sensor. Despite its large battery and cooling system, the phone is 8.5 millimeters thick. It is IP69-certified and therefore waterproof. Other features include stereo speakers, an NFC chip, dual SIM support and the ability to play PC and Steam games
Preorders for the Nubia RedMagic 12 Pro open on November 17 in the RedMagic online store, with open sales starting November 18. Customers who preorder the phone and buy a voucher in advance between November 12 and 17 will receive a complimentary 80-watt USB-C charger.
