Okla. (KSWO) – The Red River Cards and Collectibles Expo drew collectors of all ages to the Comanche County Fairgrounds Annex on Saturday, giving attendees a place to buy, sell, trade and connect over shared interests
The two-day event, hosted by The Hulkishop and Homer’s Collection, is located at 920 SW Sheridan Road. Admission is $5 per person. Children 12 and under are admitted free.
Organizers said they did not want a basic card or toy show. Their goal was to build community around hobbies and interests.
James Boykin, co-owner of Red River Cards, said the connections made at the event are what matter most to him.
“What I enjoy most about this is just the connecting with the community, meeting new people, having conversations about the collectibles and things that I really enjoy. It kind of opens up opportunities to meet new people, potential business adventures,” Boykin said.
Boykin said those connections can last well beyond the event.
“There’s many different ways that you can connect with people and you might make a lifetime friend. That’s how I met my best friend and business partner that I’m actually working with for this expo,” he said.
The expo returns Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Comanche County Fairgrounds Annex, 920 SW Sheridan Road. Admission is $5; children 12 and under are free.
