As Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket nears its second anniversary, the game’s producers wanted to share details about some exciting additions and improvements coming to the game.
To all of you playing Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket,
Greetings from the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket Operations Team.
We would first like to take this opportunity to thank all of our players.
A new series will be kicking off in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket at the end of October 2026, and we would like to share information about our development plans and planned updates for the new series.
First, we plan to add new ways to play as well as new features focused on making both collecting and battling more accessible and enjoyable.
Dual-type Pokémon will also be debuting in the new series, expanding the battling experience, so we hope you look forward to it.
Reworking the Cycle of Play
Until now, booster packs have been released in cycles of approximately four weeks, but we have received feedback that the large number of cards being released in each pack up to B series has made collecting difficult. In the new series, we will be changing the booster pack release cycle from the approximately four-week cycle to a cycle of roughly six weeks, with the hope that it will make it possible for even more players to enjoy building collections at their own pace. In the new series, we will be changing the booster pack release cycle from the approximately four-week cycle to a cycle of roughly six weeks, with the hope that it will make it possible for even more players to enjoy building collections at their own pace.
Coinciding with this change, we will be expanding events and missions surrounding the collecting and battling experience and updating features so players can have even more fun during the roughly six-week period before the next booster pack’s release.
1. A New Card-Collecting Experience
- Immersive Cards Obtainable as Mission Rewards Arrive
- In addition to immersive cards that can be obtained from opening booster packs in the new series, missions will also be made available that allow players to obtain different immersive cards by completing collections.
- Special Pack: First Partners Arrives
- Special Pack: First Partners will be releasing. In this special pack, you can obtain special cards depicting the first partner Pokémon you encounter in each of the nine regions the Pokémon video game series has been set in thus far.
- Special packs are different from normal booster packs and can be opened by using special pack stamina that recovers once a week.
- ★1 Promo Cards Arrive
- Event missions are planned to be held from which you can obtain ★1 promo cards featuring distinctive illustrations in a unified theme. Missions will be added each week for three weeks, and completing each set will allow you to obtain one of the three varieties of illustrated promo cards available. We hope you try completing the set!
2. Updates to the Battling Experience
- New Feature: Community Decks
- We have provided features such as theme deck lists and 2D pattern codes to assist players in building decks thus far, but we plan on implementing a new Community Decks feature as an additional way to make deck-building even more accessible.
- This feature will let you view player-created decks in-game, such as decks that are popular among players or your friends’ decks, then use your own cards to copy them. Since it allows you to easily build decks, we would recommend this feature to both current players and those who have just started battling.
- Making Rental Decks Easier to Use
-
Rental decks were added as a feature to help players enjoy battling with ease, but we have received feedback about the limitations in how they are obtained and their number of uses, as well as feedback that the large number of rental decks available makes it difficult to know which to use.
To help even more players experience the appeal of cards, beginning in the new series, rental decks will become available to use as soon as new booster packs have been released, and they will be playable for an unlimited number of uses. In addition, they will also become available to use in versus battles. We hope you enjoy casual battles using a variety of rental decks full of cards with their own unique charm.

- Limited Battle Events Will Be Added
-
Battle events with rules limiting the eligible cards to use are planned to be held a set period after each booster pack’s release, as events that allow players to enjoy a new and different way to battle.
You can obtain accessories to use in battle, promo packs, and more based on your number of wins. This event allows players to enjoy a unique battle experience using different decks than they usually would, while also being easy to participate in for players who have yet to experience battling.
3. Making Trading and Sharing Easier to Enjoy
-
We also have updates planned to make existing features even easier to use. Several new additions are planned, such as a feature that allows you to check cards of any rarity that are not registered in your trade partner’s card dex while trading, a feature that identifies cards on your share partner’s wishlist, and more.
Going forward, we will continue to make similar improvements to various features.
In addition to the update at the end of October 2026, we also plan to add a variety of features and ways to play alongside each booster pack’s release in the new series.
We’re currently diligently working on development to deliver plenty of surprises to players, such as new ways to collect, new features, updates to existing features to make the game easier to play, and more.
The Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket Operations Team will continue to develop and operate the game while incorporating feedback from players to create new experiences and content and make battling and collecting even more enjoyable.
We hope you continue to enjoy Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.
