Every season, a handful of anime remind viewers that the story they are watching started out as text on a page, usually with a moody cover illustration and a title far too long to say out loud in one breath.

The newly founded MCU was thriving with projects like The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy and even ventured into television with award-winning shows like “Daredevil”. Shortly after, DC followed suit with its own litany of superhero projects, and although they fluctuated in quality, audiences continuously came to theaters to see each installment.
