The Hyderabad event gave the team an opportunity to interact with fans and speak about the film’s upcoming release across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The team behind Ramayana brought the excitement surrounding the much-anticipated epic to Hyderabad with a special pre-release event ahead of its worldwide theatrical release this Diwali. Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, director Nitesh Tiwari, producer Namit Malhotra and distributor Dil Raju came together to celebrate the film and share their experiences of bringing the timeless Indian epic to the big screen.
Produced by Namit Malhotra and directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is among the most eagerly awaited films of 2026.
The anticipation has continued to build with every promotional reveal, from the teaser to the trailer. Beyond its scale, star cast and visual spectacle, the film’s makers have consistently emphasised their intention to approach the epic with respect for its cultural and spiritual significance.
The Hyderabad event gave the team an opportunity to interact with fans and speak about the film’s upcoming release across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Sri Venkateswara Creations (SVC), the banner headed by Dil Raju, is distributing the film in the Telugu-speaking states.
Addressing the gathering, Ranbir Kapoor spoke about the enduring relevance of the Ramayana and the values it continues to teach across generations.
“Jai Shri Ram! Greetings to everyone. Some stories do not need to be told because they live on with us. Ramayana is one such story. Ramayana is a wonderful journey that teaches us how to be a great father, a good son, a loving husband and a true friend. When you watch this film, it will not feel like you are simply watching a movie. You will undoubtedly experience something extraordinary. This is a film that inspires goodness in all of us. Namit Malhotra has brought this film to life with an extraordinary vision. Director Nitesh Tiwari has crafted it beautifully, and I thank him for making me a part of this film.”
Yash, who is also a co-producer of the film, spoke about the collective effort behind the project and the importance of taking Indian cinema to a global audience. He thanked fans for their continued support and acknowledged the contributions of filmmakers and actors who have helped showcase the potential of Indian cinema internationally.
“Greetings to everyone. I met all of you two months ago and spoke about my work. Many of you came to watch the film with so much love. Some liked it, while others may not have. Regardless, you came with so much affection for me, and I thank you for that. Your love is what keeps us moving forward. We work hard to entertain you. Rajamouli garu, Prabhas garu, Ram Charan garu and NTR garu have all shown the world the incredible things our film industry is capable of achieving. This is my third collaboration with Dil Raju garu.”
Yash went on to appreciate Dil Raju’s involvement in the film’s Telugu release, particularly his attention to the language and its nuances. He also praised Nitesh Tiwari’s collaborative approach and Rakul’s performance as Shurpanakha.
He further elaborated, “To make a good film, you need a producer with genuine passion, and Dil Raju garu is one such person. Even when he distributes a film, he takes tremendous care. He personally ensured that the Telugu dialogues in this film were handled with great attention to detail, keeping Telugu audiences in mind. I thank him for his support. Nitesh garu is a director who lets his work speak for itself.”
Sai Pallavi, who plays Goddess Sita, spoke about the years of preparation that went into making the film and the care taken by the makers to bring the epic to audiences across generations. She also expressed confidence that viewers in the Telugu states would connect with the film’s storytelling and visual scale.
“Greetings to everyone. I am grateful for all the love you have shown us. Although our journey with Ramayana has been three years long, our director and producer have been working towards this vision for nearly ten years. This film will feel like a proper Telugu film to you.”
Director Nitesh Tiwari also addressed the gathering, expressing his happiness at seeing the enthusiasm of the audience in Hyderabad and acknowledging the excitement surrounding the film.
“Greetings to everyone. Seeing the enthusiasm of the audience here makes me extremely happy.”
Producer Namit Malhotra spoke about his ambition to bring the Ramayana to the global stage while remaining rooted in India’s cultural heritage. He credited Nitesh Tiwari for helping realise the vision and thanked Dil Raju for supporting the film’s release in the Telugu states.
“Greetings to everyone. I am delighted to meet Telugu audiences through this event. This journey would not have been possible without our director, Nitesh Tiwari. I am extremely happy that Dil Raju garu is associated with this film. We will always be grateful for his support in bringing such extraordinary, high-quality storytelling to audiences around the world. Dharma Productions is releasing the film in North India. All of us have grown up listening to the Ramayana across generations. This is not just a film. It is something much greater. The Ramayana is a universe in itself. This is a film that every Indian can be proud of. Indian cinema is receiving recognition across the world today. We have crafted this film to take that recognition to an entirely new level. We are taking our story to the world, and we need all your love and support.”
Dil Raju, who is overseeing the film’s distribution across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, described Ramayana as a prestigious project and spoke about the scale of the cinematic experience awaiting audiences. He also expressed gratitude to Namit Malhotra for allowing his organisation to bring the film to Telugu audiences.
He said, “Greetings to everyone. Jai Shri Ram! This is an extremely prestigious film. Sony is releasing it in Hollywood, Karan Johar is handling its release in North India, and our organisation is releasing it across the Telugu states. The Ramayana is a history that has been passed down through generations and across ages. I thank producer Namit Malhotra garu for giving us the opportunity to release such a magnificent film. I also thank Yash garu. When I met Namit garu recently, he showed me some visuals from the film in 3D. They were absolutely mind-blowing. You are going to experience something extraordinary in theatres.”
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Conceived as a two-part epic, the film is set to release worldwide in IMAX.
