    The television anime PSYREN will begin airing on TOKYO MX and other channels at 11 p.m. on October 5. To mark the broadcast, a series of celebratory illustrations has been released by fellow manga creators with ties to original creator Toshiaki Iwashiro, including the artists behind Black Clover, Beelzebub and Kaiju No. 8.

    The television anime PSYREN is set to begin airing on TOKYO MX and other channels at 11 p.m. on October 5.

    The anime is based on Toshiaki Iwashiro’s psychic battle suspense manga, which was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from 2008 to 2010.

    Ageha Enters a Life-or-Death Game

    The story follows Ageha Yoshina, a first-year high school student who one day finds a red telephone card left behind at a public telephone.

    Several days later, his childhood friend and classmate Sakurako Amamiya, who possesses the same type of card, suddenly disappears.

    In an effort to find Amamiya, Ageha makes contact with Secret Society Psyren, which is rumored to be behind a series of mysterious disappearances occurring across Japan.

    From there, a life-or-death game begins.

    Five Manga Creators Celebrate PSYREN With New Illustrations

    To commemorate the anime broadcast, celebratory illustrations were contributed by five manga creators with ties to Iwashiro.

    The participating artists are Yujiro Sakamoto, creator of Takaya; Yuki Tabata, creator of Black Clover; Ryuhei Tamura, creator of Beelzebub; Naoya Matsumoto, creator of Kaiju No. 8; and Daisuke Miyata, creator of The Ultimate Poem.

    Each artist produced their own illustration inspired by PSYREN.
