Farlands is a cosy new farming RPG that you can sample totally for free on <a href="https://comicvibe.com/playstation-network-experienced-a-massive-outage/” title=”PlayStation Network experienced a massive outage”>PlayStation.

Developed by JanduSoft, the 2D visuals harken back to the classic RPGs of yesteryear, like those you’ll find in The Legend of Zelda franchise.

In terms of its concept, though, Farlands perhaps shares more in common with No Man’s Sky.

“Congratulations, you’ve bought your own planet!” begins the synopsis.

“An agrarian rock at the edge of the galaxy that, for some reason, was practically being given away for free.

“So the time has come to leave your hectic, stressful life in an overcrowded metropolis for a more rural and rewarding life.”

Farlands will task players with clearing paths, reclaiming fields, cutting down weeds and essentially turning an abandoned expanse into a thriving, cosy homestead.

This is an RPG, though, so you have far more to do than just farming.

    Farlands,

Players are equipped with a spaceship that they can use to explore the solar system, collecting re

This isn’t a heavily populated world, but you will meet some interesting NPCs, with some that do remain across the solar system’s habitable planets.

Get to know Farlands’ NPCs, and you’ll uncover just why the galaxy is so remote and why these particular folk decided to stay.

You see, there’s a larger mystery running throughout Farlands.

“A whole planet at a bargain price? Perhaps there’s a reason for that… Maybe things won’t be as simple as they first seemed,” devs tease.

The game departed early access on PC earlier this month, landing on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch at the same time.

Farlandshas a free demo where you can trial 10 in-game days completely for free

A quick glimpse at the PC version will show you just how popular Farlands has proven to be, with a current all-time rating of 91%, correct at the time of writing.

Over on PlayStation, you can sample a free demo of Farlands, and while the score sits at a mixed 3.57, 51% of players awarded a perfect score of five out of five.

You can’t leave a written review on the PlayStation Store but here are some testimonies from Steam.

“Really impressive and wonderful game. The space twist is pretty fun and interesting, the concept of multiple planets to explore is stunning and beautiful,” remarked one player.

“Farlands has a solid foundation and a gameplay loop that kept me engaged. The ship travel system is one of its stronger points,” another added.

The demo should allow you to get a feel for what Farlands has to offer, allowing you access to 10 in-game days; just search Farlands to locate the demo on the PlayStation Store.

If you do enjoy what you play, the full version of the title retails for $17.99, although there may be offers running depending on what territory you’re in.

While the best demos are typically reserved for PlayStation Plus Premium’s Game Trials catalogue, there are plenty of delightful titles available to samplebrowse
