County College of Morris is bringing one of the comic book industry’s most recognizable educational institutions to its campus, announcing it has acquired The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art

Beginning in the Fall 2026 semester, the renowned school will operate as The Joe Kubert School at CCM, expanding educational opportunities for students pursuing careers in comics, illustration, animation and graphic storytelling.

College officials said the move combines CCM’s student resional cartoonists and illustrators. A formal signing ceremony commemorating the integration is scheduled for Aug. 17 on the CCM campus in Randolph

“The Joe Kubert School has inspired generations of artists and creators,” said CCM President Dr. Anthony Iacono. “By coming together, we are expanding opportunities for students to develop the artistic, technical, and professional skills needed to thrive in today’s creative industries.”

The Kubert School has long been recognized as one of the nation’s premier training grounds for comic book artists and graphic storytellers. Its industry connections include companies such as DC Comics, Marvel Comics, IDW Publishing and Dynamite Entertainment, giving students opportunities to learn from working professionals and build careers in the field.

Graduates have gone on to work for major entertainment companies including Walt Disney Animation Studios, Warner Bros. and Pixar Animation Studios.

The program will now be offered through CCM’s Center for Workforce Development, where students of varying experience levels can develop illustration and storytelling skills while learning from industry professionals.

“For five decades, The Joe Kubert School has been dedicated to helping artists turn their love of art into a profession,” said Anthony Marques, president of The Joe Kubert School. “By combining our specialized art education with CCM’s many re succeed.”

Students interested in enrolling for Fall 2026 can learn more or apply at kubertschool.edu. Questions about the program can be directed to CCM’s Center for Workforce Development at wfd@ccm.edu or 973-328-5187.
