Press Release hub banner blue with title in red white and blueDelta is teaming up with Sport 24, IMG’s dedicated live sports channel for the airline and cruise industries, to bring 24/7 live sports coverage to customers on international routes through Delta Sync Wi-Fi.

On long-haul international flights, customers can cross oceans and time zones while major sports moments unfold back home and around the world. Beginning this fall, Delta will give customers on international flights a new way to watch those moments – live from their own devices.

Through a new partnership with global sports marketing agency IMG, Delta Sync Wi-Fi will offer access to global sports programmingnd from the U.S. It’s the latest example of how Delta Sync — the platform for entertainment, connection and experiences tailored to the journey, unlocked through free SkyMiles Membership — offers so much more than Wi-Fi

Eighty-five percent of sports fans agree that watching sports provides a sense of normalcy — even when other parts of life feel out of control.

The launch is the latest in Delta’s growing portfolio of connected sports experiences as the airline doubles down on its ambition to be the leading premium airline for sports fans.

Sports are one of the many ways Delta creates meaningful connections with customers around the world. As the Official Airline of Champions, Delta partners with world-class organisations including Team USA, the WNBA, PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions, the Masters Tournament and professional and collegiate teams across its key markets.

These partnerships help bring fans closer to the teams, athletes and moments they love while reflecting Delta’s commitment to excellence, innovation and world-class experiences both on the ground and in the air.

Introducing Sport 24 on Delta Sync Wi-Fi

Sport 24 is the first and only dedicated live sports channel available on airlines and cruise ships around the world. Owned, operated and licensed by IMG, it brings international travellers access to around-the-clock live sports programming while they fly.

Customers can log on to Delta Sync Wi-Fi with their SkyMiles credentials and connect to a web player featuring Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra channels. Not a SkyMiles Member yet? Join today for free.

Sport 24 coverage will span some of the world’s most-followed sports and competitions, including the Premier League, UEFA competitions, Formula 1, Grand Slam tennis tournaments and more, with live programming prioritised based on the most relevant event available at the time.

The platform will be available through Delta Sync Wi-Fi on international routes between the U.S. and destinations abroad. Customers will access Sport 24 from Delta Sync Wi-Fi portal

“As Delta continues to build for a more global, connected future, we’re focused on making the onboard experience more relevant to where our customers are going and what they care about,” said Ranjan Goswami, Delta’s Chief Marketing and Product Officer.

“Live sports bring people together across borders and time zones, and through our partnership with Sport 24, customers on international flights can stay connected to the moments that matter most while they travel.”

    • 24/7 sports channels through Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra
    • Includes major global sports properties such as the Premier League, UEFA competitions, Formula 1, NFL, NBA and Grand Slams
    • Available on international routes to and from the U.S.
    • Accessed through Delta Sync Wi-Fi on personal devices

Live sports, wherever the journey takes you

Delta is giving customers more ways to stay connected to the sports they care about while they fly — from Live TV on equipped aircraft to streaming partnerships and interactive experiences.

With Sport 24, that lineup expands to international travel, giving customers access to major live games and events as they cross oceans and time zones.

Richard Wise, SVP, Content and Channels, IMG added: “Sport 24 offers an unmatched portfolio of live sport and we understand how important it is for passengers to have more choice in how they can experience live sport on board.

“With more than 14 years of proven delivery, supported by IMG’s global knowledge, insights and expertise, we’re proud to partner with Delta to help its passengers tune into the action live, wherever they are.”

For customers crossing borders and time zones, Sport 24 brings the global sports calendar closer to the journey. It’s just one more way Delta Sync is connecting customers to the experiences they love — including the live sports moments they don’t want to miss.
