After the success of last year’s Kickstarter campaign for POSTAL 2 Redux, which saw it amass over $680,000 in funds, Running With Scissors, Team Beef, and Flat2VR Studios have announced that those itching to get their hands on the game won’t have to wait too long. The up<a href="https://comicvibe.com/whats-coming-to-netflix-this-week-august-24-to-30-2026/” title=”What’s Coming to Netflix This Week: August 24 to 30, 2026″>coming reimagining of the beloved cult 2003 shooter will launch for PlayStation 5 with PlayStation VR2 support, PlayStation 4, PC via Steam with virtual reality support, and the Meta Quest in spring 2027, with additional consoles to follow.
In a press release, Running With Scissors founder and CEO Vince Desi stated, “When we made the original POSTAL 2, we set out to build something that didn’t exist anywhere else, a game defined by total player freedom. It filled a need, and we blew some minds along the way. More than 25 years later, we wanted to bring modern technology and game systems to that original vision, and the response from the community overwhelmed us. We’ve been hard at work to deliver exactly that, and to bring it to more platforms like PS5, and here we are. We can’t wait for players to get their hands on it.”
Set in the fictional Arizona town of Paradise, POSTAL 2 sees the player assume the role of “The Postal Dude”, who must carry out their mundane tasks throughout an in-game week, with the player deciding how violently or passively The Dude will react to various situations.
You can choose to be a law-abiding citizen, or let loose with an arsenal of insane weapons, from gasoline and matches to the infamous cat silencer, lob grenades, or even resort to “the call of nature” with the game’s physics-driven melee combat. Every choice you make fuels the town’s dynamic AI, leading to unpredictable encounters, spontaneous riots, and absolute bedlam.
