A fan-favorite Disney+ animated superhero series is heading into a new era. Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir is getting its first live-action television series, which is set to bring Marinette and Adrien‘s story to a new format for a broader, older audience.
Mediawan companies See-Saw Films and Miraculous Corp announced the project on October 8, 2026. See-Saw Films, the production company behind Slow Horses and Heartstopper, will develop and co-produce the series with Miraculous Corp. Emme Hoy is adapting the series for live action and will serve as a writer and executive producer.
The live-action show will once again center on Marinette and Adrien. By day, they are classmates in Paris who share an obvious connection but do not know each other’s secret. By night, they transform into Ladybug and Cat Noir and battle supervillains together.
The new series will take a more emotional approach while retaining the superhero elements of the original. It will be set in a darker, more romantic version of Paris and will explore the relationship between the two heroes over the course of the series.
“Miraculous has always been, at its heart, a story about the distance between who we are and who we let people see,” said Maria Nicholson, an executive producer at See-Saw Films, in the press release.
