POP CULTURE NEWS 263: THE NO GOOD NEWS WEEK

Hey reader, it’s Friday! This means we take a look back on the pop culture stories of the past week. Honestly, the happy or good news of the week is in shortsupply. I saw a lot of negativity (merger, AI, etc.) in the pop culture world of headlines, and I’m just over it (there are plenty of life issues that deserve our upset, so wasting my energy on silly negative things isn’t my cup of tea). Finding cool or fun things is rare, but I did try. There are a couple great things though. Having said all that, well, now let’s cut the additional chitchat and just jump in, shall we? pop culture news 263

THE POP CULTURE NEWS BULLETIN 263

The Pop Culture News Bulletin is a weekly roundup of the recent and trending news stories in the entertainment industry or stories that fall into the pop culture subcategory. Every Friday we feature stories that fit the content we frequently cover

If you loved season one, season two of Blue Skies is now streaming with UP Faith and Family. Or episode one is. The show follows a former military police officer who returns home where she now investigates crimes at a national park. New episodes debut on Wednesdays. See the trailer below.

Netflix has reportedly picked up to develop American Royals. The story, which follows the concept that America has royalty rather than presidents, is a popular YA novel by Katharine McGee. No reporting reveals when this would debut, but likely it wouldn’t be until late 2027 if not later as in the followingyear.

News from Netflix that broke last week is that Crew Girl also received a second season. The show is another YA show following a competitive rower who starts over at a new school after a family scandal.

Prime Video handed out a pair of big renewals. They gave season six to Reacher (ahead of its fifth season, which is reportedly filming now) and season two renewal for Neagley.

The upcoming NBC sitcom Newlyweds, that will debut in October, has dropped a trailer. It follows Tea Leoni and Tim Daley as characters who make a rush to the altar in a possibly wrong (or right?) decision to marry. See the trailer below.
