Ubisoft has released a new-gen remastert comes a huge discount, free-to-play access, and free DLC for all

When Ghost Recon Wildlands was released in 2017 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it didn’t have the best of starts. For a game best experienced with online co-op, it had server issues at launch, which alone would be enough to put some gamers off. On top of that, it had its fair share of bugs.

The developers at Ubisoft worked to address all the issues during the weeks and months after its launch. Ghost Recon Wildlands is now a much better game, but at launch the damage was already done, and it struggled to retain a large player base. Then the woeful Ghost Recon Breakpoint happened in 2019, and that would be the last we’d see of this series, for now.

Ubisoft announces free Ghost Recon Wildlands new-gen update

During a 25th anniversary Ghost Recon showcase this week, Ubisoft announced that Ghost Recon Wildlands is getting afree new-gen update. That very update is live right now and will download/install the next time you fire up the game with an internet connection.

However, that is not all, because Ghost Recon Wildlands also received a free standalone DLC mission called ‘Last Rites’. The full game is free-to-play until August 10, 2026, and now we’ve learned it’s currently got a huge discount across all platforms.

Right now, ount, bringing the price down from £44.99/$49.99 to just£6.74/$4.99. The PlayStation Store discount ends on August 12, 2026, so you can play the trial first before committing to buy at the discount, just to be safe

Ghost Recon Wildlands is also currently included in PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium at no extra cost.

Ghost Recon Wildlands is even cheaper on PC and Xbox

PlayStation gamers are not the only ones getting a huge discount on Ghost Recon Wildlands, because there’s an even bigger discount on Steam and the Xbox Marketplace.

Until August 16, 2026, Ghost Recon Wildlands has a mighty 95% discount on the PC platform Steam, bringing the price down from £41.99/$49.99 to £2.09/$4.99. Xbox has the same discount with its offer, but that discount ends on August 21, 2026.

What’s the story of Ghost Recon Wildlands?

“In the near future, Boliour team of elite soldiers and coordinate raids. Pilot drones and helicopters and drive the wildest vehicles on and off-road as you scour the breathtaking landscapes of Boli

Aside from the campaign, which can be played solo or four-player co-op, it also has a plethora of competitive multiplayer modes, such as variants on Team Deathmatch, extraction and even a take on a smaller-scale battle royale. For the price Ghost Recon Wildlands is discounted by, you get a lot of bang for your buck.

Ghost Recon Wildlands is out on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
