PlayStation gamers can now pick up five new free demos from the PlayStation Store, allowing them to access free slices of several upcoming games.

If you’re a PS5 gamer looking for a bunch of new games to put on your radar for later in the year, it’s a good shout to have a scan around the PlayStation Store’s demo section.

This part of the store can often include some free tasters for upcoming games you would have never even heard of, and may lead to you adding a few to your wishlist.

Let’s dive into the new free demos that are available to download on the PlayStation Store.

    1. Volcano Princess Prologue

“Prepare the next monarch by finding her hobbies, training her for battle, and befriending the citizens she’ll one day protect. Dive into an all-new parenting-simulator-RPG adventure, where every decision you make will not only affect the future of your daughter but that of an entire empire!”

In some ways, it’s a mix of Stardew Valley and Long Live The Queen, where you need to raise your daughter and make sure that she has all the right experiences to shape her into a ruler that is worthy of the people. The full game will include multiple branching narratives and endings, so the demo is a good way to get a feel for how this will play out.

    2. Fresh Tracks

“Jump, dodge, and fight to the rhythm of the gods in this thrilling music-action game on skis. Take on obstacles and menacing enemies as you ski further into the darkness that has befallen the snow-covered land of Norwyn.”

The rhythm genre has come a long way from being simple music games, and Fresh Tracks is proof of an innovative idea being taken to a fun extreme. Featuring full voice acting from Until Dawn’s Peter Stormare and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s Michael Antonakos, there’s a lot of this to unravel in the game’s opening levels.

    3. Disgaea Mayhem

“Magichange into action with this brand new take on the Disgaea franchise! It’s time to fight your own battles with responsive, action-packed combat.”

A new entry in the Disgaea series out this week, Disgaea Mayhem is a spin-off, adopting an action RPG approach to the series and converting all of its familiar elements into this new style.

    NIS America, Inc.

    4. Twofold

“In a bid to avoid failing out of college, Olive Penn inadvertently finds themselves caught in the middle of a feud between two campus club leaders whose rivalry seemingly threatens to tear their friendship apart.”

A narrative-driven visual novel, Twofold focuses on telling a story about the connection between people, centering it on a college student named Olive. The demo will offer a glimpse of the game’s opening chapters, with the final release featuring two distinct paths to travel down as well as plenty of characters to interact with.

    5. Extreme Cycling Championship

“Extreme Cycling Championship delivers a thrilling blend of realistic physics and arcade-style intensity. Players take on the role of elite riders, navigating 12 diverse and dangerous environments—from neon-lit cityscapes to volatile volcanic circuits.”

Just an absolute fun plug-in-and-play experience, Extreme Cycle Championship feels like a throwback to extreme sports video games you’d get on the original PlayStation, with multiple tracks and high quality bikes to choose from as you trek across harsh environments.
